This year there was almost no NFL season due to The NFL lockout. It started this year and went from March 11th to July 25th. What the lockout means is that the players were on strike. There was dispute between the players and the owners of the teams not the coaches. A big part of it was the owners wanting more from players without good reasons. They wanted to add more games to the schedule so they could make more money but the player’s salaries would decrease and the risk of injury would increase. They also wanted to pay the players less money due to loss of income, but the owners did not provide evidence of lost income. The more the lockout lasted the more Americans began to worry and worry about an NFL season. Roger Goodell announced football was back July 25th. Teams began to work right away on training camps getting as much in as possible since the coaches were not allowed to contact the players during the lockout. You can see how the lockout has affected different players. Tim Tebow being one of them. His mechanics did not get better in the offseason like he wished they would of and a new head coach’s offense has put him in a tough situation. Other players that have been affected are wide receivers like Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. They were without the starting quarterback last season for most of the year and now that he is back thy must adjust. Today the NFL is heading into weak seven. Teams that have been surprising the league are the Buffalo Bills, and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bills have been winning games and have beaten Tom Brady and the Patriots and are battling against them for first place in their division. And the Eagles whom were announced the team dream for this year have been on the losing side. They started the season at 1-4. These are few of the many surprises that appear every year in the NFL.
I think that you did a good job making you main issue clear (the Lock out) in the NFL. I like how you used examples of players as well as teams that were effected by the issue and talked about why the issue had occurred in the organization. There were a few spelling/grammatical errors however that may distract the reader, so a proof-read would definitely better your blog.
